Job position: Technician
Plasmore is looking for a Technician to provide support to its nanofabrication activities.
The candidate will contribute primarily to experimental work related to the development of plasmonic surfaces and their characterization. The main activity will consist in the application of Plasmore fabrication protocol to obtain reliable and reproducible nanostructured surfaces with desired optical behavior. The laboratory activities will involve: deposition of controlled polymeric layer, assembly of colloidal monolayers, plasma processing.
The candidate must have a university degree in a field relevant to the position, such as a Master degree in Physics, Physical-Chemistry, Materials Engineering or Materials Science. A specialization or PhD in a relevant topic is an advantage.
Hands-on experience in micro/nano fabrication and nanomaterials characterization is required.
The candidate should be familiar with plasma processing (such as RIE, magnetron sputtering deposition).
Experience in surface plasmon resonance detection technique, as well as in surface characterization techniques (e.g., spectroscopy, ellipsometry, optical and electron microscopy) is appreciated.
The candidate is expected to have good communication and analytical skills, as well as good problem solving attitude.
Good command of English is highly desirable.
Experience in surface functionalization and biomolecular interaction studies is an added value.
6 months initial contract with possible renewals.
The main Plasmore activities are carried out at the Joint Research Centre (Laboratory of Nanobiotechnology, Ispra – Italy).
The candidate must send the expression of interest together to an updated curriculum vitae to the following address: firstname.lastname@example.org.
